Alice White

Associate Lecturer, Central St Martins College of Art and Design
London, United Kingdom
Alice White's artwork aims to provide a new perspective on the traditionally inaccessible field of marine conservation, with particular emphasis on rare species which are indigenous to UK waters. During her year as the Artist for Animals at ZSL London Zoo, her project ‘A New Wave: Art and Conservation Science’ was developed through interviews with the zookeepers and conservation scientists on and off site.
Her solo exhibition at ZSL London Zoo Aquarium in Spring 2015 was the first painting exhibition to launch on zoo grounds. She continues to create her artwork in conjunction with UK conservation teams, and to use her skills as a public speaker and art educator to ensure her projects provide positive social outcomes.
In Autumn 2016 she exhibited in the Annual Exhibitions for both the Royal Society of Marine and the Society of Wildlife Artists at the Mall Galleries in central London.
